Ústí nad Labem (CZ) – September
We only had half a day here but still managed to see many of the lines & termini (but not all of them). Frequent services and long lines (many of them in very hilly terrain)!
Zwickau (DE) – September
Weather was not ideal but we managed to ride a few lines here and in Gera (below).
Gera (DE) – September
Jena (DE) – September
We only had about one hour here around the Paradies Bahnhof area and the old town. Needs another visit.
Gotha (DE) – September
The only system we visited (apart from Prague) where we did have time to ride (all lines except line 3). Weather was still far from good (at least we did not get wet). A nice little system with interesting older rolling stock (but for how much longer?). The ex Baselland trams are of course a highlight – we can’t wait to ride them in Lviv!.
Erfurt (DE) – September
This is the only German system we had not really visited before (except for about 45 min. between trains). So we made sure this time to see as much as time would allow us. We did not think that we would see any KT4Ds here but luckily three appeared on sightseeing duties.
Kassel (DE) – September
Kassel was the end of our September tour to CZ and southern East Germany.
