Travels 2025 – Part IV

Prague (CZ) – September

We visited the big tram parade held in recognition of “150 years of public transport” in the city. Quite an event!

Prague (CZ) – September

Open day at the completely rebuilt Hloubětín depot (it was inaugurated in March 2025). More an event for families. The new Škoda 52T (also known as ForCity Plus Praha) trams were introduced to the public (though at least one vehicle had been in use with passengers for a few weeks – we rode it on two visits).

Prague (CZ) – September

Other views.

Pilsen (CZ) – September

We organised two charters (private hires) and a depot visit for a Danish group and joined them for the day. The tram depot has been completely replaced by a new building since our last visit. Afterward the group activities we concentrated mostly on the trams. No time for their famous beer… Needs a repeat visit!

Chomutov – Jirkov (CZ) – September

Our last visit here was years ago and the fleet has been completely replaced by modern equipment. Unfortunately, headways are still rather bad (some lines only run a few times a day during peak hours and the other lines run every 30 minutes, diesel buses seem more frequent). We stayed at the impressive old castle hotel again in Jirkov (it is painted on a house at the trolleybus downtown loop there).

Most (CZ) – September

This time we visited mainly Litvinov (with just a quick look at the Most termini). Frequent headways and sunny weather made this short visit very enjoyable.

Teplice (CZ) September

During our previous visit we only had time for a few photos in the city center (and the depot). This time we managed to see many of the termini. Like in so many places we re-visit the fleet has been renewed.
